And As We Behold His Glory, We are changed…from Glory to Glory

Stream of consciousness…Jesus. When thinking about Him, thinking about the Word and what it says about Him, I become still inside. It’s hard to express the feelings, the love, the awesomeness of who He is.

Talking with someone about Hebrews today and how Jesus reflects God’s glory and how we can reflect his glory. In Hebrews 1, the King James says that Jesus is the “Brightness of {God’s} glory, and “the express image of his person.” I see and understand this as Jesus reflecting God the Father’s brightness and personhood in the way a mirror reflects an image. Of course, a mirror image is flat. Jesus reflects the Father in a more real way.

Jesus purged our sins himself. We had nothing to do with it. And he upholds everything by the word of his power–or the power of his word. God created the world with words, and it stays in place by his word. Interesting, isn’t it?

And that is why it is so hard for science to get things right. They do not know or understand the power in the spoken word. As most of us don’t. If we did, we wouldn’t waste so many of them. 🙂

Hebrews 1-3 (KJV) God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high…

And then 2nd Cor 3:18: But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit.  (notice it’s as we behold his glory, that we are changed.)
