Writing for God, Fighting Human Trafficking

Thank you to Valparaiso University and Sig Ep Fraternity for Battling Sexual Assault On Campus!

My husband got his SigEp Journal the other day, and just a few short minutes later, he dropped it onto my lap. “You’ll want to read this.” He grinned when he said it, and in another few minutes I saw the reason why.

The SigEps at Valparaiso U. are fighting sexual assault. The fraternity has brought awareness to its members and the campus for almost a decade. They wanted their frat house to become a safe house. To do this, they first became educated about sexual assault, and then established safe house squads at parties to watch out for dangerous situations.

Because of their stand, the university itself now requires annual accreditation for Greek chapters that includes sexual assault education and awareness training.

What a great response to the proliferation of of this crime in colleges and universities across the nation. One that should be replicated on all campuses!

My hat, my heart, and my thanks are extended to the SigEps of VU, to the other Greek houses that joined their stand against rape and sexual assault, and to Valparaiso, too!
