Completely different from my other post with this name. This time I’m talking about the uncommon courage of a former victim of human trafficking.
Her testimony of becoming a “dancer” in a strip joint is one that led quickly to being trafficked. She thought she could earn a lot of money, quick. And she did at first. But very soon she was taken into trafficking when a trafficker learned she had a young daughter to raise and a lot of medical bills to pay.
Soon she was no longer able to just “dance,” and keep all her money, she was forced into prostitution and relieved of a lot of her money.
She couldn’t report this to management, she said, because they just reported it back to her pimp and she was “punished.”
She’s managed to get away and today is a survivor and speaker for those caught in trafficking. Uncommon courage.
Like so many, she thought she needed quick money, but what she needed was an uncommon God that could meet her needs. And there is such a God.
God has inspired the scriptures that tell us that he “gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world.” Gal 1:4.
And those of us who know him, know that he does that even today. He is a real help in a real world!
