Consider: Do you back away from telling people the truth about their sin? Now hold on–I mean in LOVE, not in condemnation. It is because God loved us that He sent his Son, that He came to earth to save us.
Sexual sin is so rampant in America right now. Do we see it for what it is? Wrong, sinful, shameful? We don’t have a sexual revolution in America, we have a sexual scourge.
I have a friend who calls every once in a while and asks, “How much do you love me?” It’s a friendship that has seen her in many ups and downs. If she slips and “goes down,” she wants to know, do I still love her? And the answer is, “Of course.” Even though I point out that what she is doing right then is wrong, I say it with love. However, it would not be love if I let her think that her sin was okay.
The Bible tells us (the Holy Spirit inspired Word of God) : “For this is the will of God, your sanctification:that you abstain from sexual immorality; that each one of you know how to control his own body in holiness and honor, not in the passion of lust like the Gentiles who do not know God; that no one transgress and wrong his brother in this matter, because the Lord is an avenger in all these things, as we told you beforehand and solemnly warned you. For God has not called us for impurity, but in holiness. Therefore whoever disregards this, disregards not man but God, who gives his Holy Spirit to you.”- 1 Thessalonians 4:3-8
Let’s check out our lives first. Let God speak to us then, if needed, speak to a brother or sister in love and tell them the truth, also.
