Survivors of Human Trafficking Receive Hate from Pimps and others in sex trade

The hate that some survivors of human trafficking face is detailed in an online article.

James Baldwin wrote “The victim who is able to articulate the situation of the victim has ceased to be a victim: she has become a threat.”

Survivor bloggers are cyber-stalked via Facebook, email, twitter and hateful blog comments. Our email accounts are hacked and private information that could endanger us is tweeted or revealed elsewhere online. Spiteful emails about us are sent to people we work with.

I read a bit about this recently on Shelley Lubben’s blog. I knew that it was mainly very poor (and desperate) women who got involved with the sex industry, but I didn’t realise how much of it was actual human trafficking, taking place in developed countries. Thanks for sharing this link. x
