For the Girls Night Out is a quarterly gathering for women from all over the Tampa Bay area and beyond. It is a chance for women of faith from all over the area to connect with each other. Our Girls Night Out is a melting pot of women from different churches, backgrounds, ages and walks of life who have these things in common: We love God, we love people, and we want to make a positive impact on our world!

For the Girls Night Out always features great music, delicious food, yummy treats, (usually involving chocolate) dynamic speakers, lots of laughter and presents!

Bring your best friend, mom, sister, church group and neighbors and join us for an unforgettable evening of relaxation and inspiration.

Human Services Coalition of Pinellas County Spring Networking Conference

The motto for this conference, “Together We Can,” expresses that we cannot as individuals do it “alone”… it’s through uniting our resources and exchanging knowledge from networking experts that innovations blossom. This networking opportunity does result in positive change in the lives of those living in the communities we serve… for the better!

Richard Curtin, Communities Putting Prevention to Work – 50 communities nationwide tackling obesity and tobacco use.
Laura Hamilton, Bridging Freedom – How your organization can help bring solutions to Domestic Minor Sex Trafficking.
Olga Barulli, World Relief Tampa – Every 30 seconds a person is sold into slavery and FL is one of the top three destinations for human trafficking.
Carol Thomas, Parent Empowerment Project – Step Up for Students administers the Florida Tax Credit Scholarship for low-income students… many still don’t know this option exists.
Deborah Godfrey, Stars-Strive of Tampa Bay – Workforce Development job placement assistance.
Cliff Smith, Pat Rogers and Will Carey, Tampa Bay Network to End Hunger.

The conference will be held at the Cooperative Extension Service, 12520 Ulmerton Road, Largo, FL (in the Pinellas County Florida Botanical Gardens). Free of Charge.

On April 29, 2012, the Sexual Violence Task Force of Tampa Bay in collaboration with the Crisis Center of Tampa Bay is hosting Take Back the Night, an interactive event that creates awareness, empowers survivors and educates the community about sexual violence. April is Sexual Violence Awareness Month, and the Sexual Violence Task Force of Tampa Bay is dedicated to the mobilization of the community proclaiming that this violence is unacceptable!

We invite you to join us for Take Back the Night: Our Voice is Our Strength and help create an environment filled with hope, healing and freedom from violence.

This event is scheduled for Saturday, April 29th, in Curtis Hixon Park. Take Back the Night is the assembly of survivors of violence and supporters who are interested in building strength and awareness to eradicate the epidemic of sexual violence. The event includes a Men’s pledge, candlelight vigil, silent march and a speak-out to invite survivors and supporters to shatter the silence of sexual violence.

Resource Fair and Music Fest- 3:45 pm to 5:45 pm- This year we will have live music, music storytelling and survivor performers on stage for a Music Fest will the Resource Fair is happening. This will energize the crowd and bring people to the event earlier!

Ceremony- 6:00 pm- 8:00 pm

Last year there were 35 organizations and agencies in the Resource Fair and over 58 represented.

Chapter31 presents the 2nd Annual SHUT-IT! (Stop Human Underground Trafficking-In Tampabay) A Frosting Event. Our focus this year will be to activate the local churches & community to aid in the ending of Human Trafficking! Come for a night of inspiration & activation!

The Frosting part of the evening is from 6pm to 7pm on May 11th for your shopping pleasure! We will have desserts & shopping!

Starting today we are pre-collecting items for this event. We want to collect your accessories: purses, shoes, and jewelry from all the women who will be participating in our Mother’s day “Frosting Party”.

We’d like for you to do your Spring Cleaning and bring them to The Warehouse (Legacy Church) no later than Wednesday, May 9th. “The only thing that separates us from the animals is our ability to accessorize.” – Steel Magnolias

Here is how it works: However many items you donate you can shop for that amount! We will give you a ticket for however many items you donate. You will present a ticket on May 11th at our Frosting event.

We are introducing a new feature to our task force meetings. NGO’s will have the opportunity to provide their organization’s informational materials. We will have tables set up on a first come, first serve basis. Come prepared to share your information and to see what others are doing as we combat this issue of human trafficking!
