This is a great article of triumph. It also contains very good information on human trafficking. These two women are to be honored for coming forth with their stories.
One was 12 years old when she was drugged and abducted from a party at a friend’s house. She was a church goer and a straight A student. She was taken, beaten, raped, her food drugged, and then kept in a locked room with only a mattress on the floor. Someone would unlock the door and another man would enter the room to rape her again. She could hear other girls scream and the sounds of fighting through the nights.
Another girl, a young teenager, remembers being so afraid that a “john” would kill her that she escaped but ran right into another trafficking group. It would be years before she managed to escape again.
The State Department estimates 15-18K victims nationwide are being trafficked into US each year from other countries, while the US Bureau of Justice estimates that 100,000 to 300,000 American children are sex trafficked within our borders each year. (May 2009 National Report) says Shared Hope Int’l.
